The Space Between

There are seasons when we’re not who we used to be. But we’re not quite who we’re becoming either.

We’re somewhere in between.

I think there’s something beautiful about that place we should honor

The Space Between is a collection of five original paintings about those quiet transitions — leaving, returning, courage, uncertainty, and finding our way forward.

About the series

The Space Between is an invitation to honor the in-between places of our own lives.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the in-between seasons of life. The times when you’re not quite where you were, but you’re not yet where you’re going either. There are seasons when we’ve left one version of our life behind, but haven’t quite arrived at what comes next. The Space Between is a collection of five original paintings honoring the beauty, uncertainty, and quiet becoming that can happen there.

That’s what these five paintings are exploring. I choose Amsterdam as the base to express my landscape philosophy. Because the city itself feels like it lives between worlds — land and water, movement and stillness, old and new. And the rainbow became this little reminder that sometimes beauty happens because opposites meet. Light and rain.

Everything seems to exist in quiet conversation. The rainbow crossing the night sky became a symbol of the beauty that can emerge in life's in-between places. Like the city itself, it exists because seemingly opposite forces meet. Light and rain. Land and water. Holding on and letting go.
