Quiet places within us where our light still lives

Early invitation into the world I've been building.

I paint the places we carry light inside us.

I believe we all have places within us that remind us who we are — even when we've forgotten.

I started this series over a year ago, during a difficult season of my life.

Life gives us so many reasons to shut down emotionally. to become colder. more guarded. less hopeful. less open.

but the people who move me most are the ones who somehow stay open through all of it.

they still love deeply.
they still notice beauty.
they still hope.
they still try again after life breaks them open.

I think that kind of tenderness is one of the bravest things a person can carry and there is something really sacred about it.

Something Sacred is my attempt to paint those places — the quiet, landscapes from my memory where that light still lives, waiting to be found again.

Five paintings. One year. A quiet search
